Alyssa Syrdal is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado. She has her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University, Denver, Colorado.

Alyssa has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families across settings. Her background is in early childhood development and has years of experience working with children with special needs and their families. Alyssa has focused more recently on working with children and their families regarding trauma processing, behaviors and other emotional disturbances. She also has great understanding in working with those struggling or in recovery for an eating disorder, disordered eating, or body image concerns.

Alyssa’s theoretical framework when working with clients comes from being a person-centered therapist. She fully believes that every human being strives for and has the capacity to fulfill their own potential. Viewing every client through the person-centered lens allows Alyssa to give them the power to be their own expert in who they are and what they are capable of. She also utilizes many techniques and types of treatment based on each clients needs such as mindfulness, play therapy, psychodynamic and gestalt.

Alyssa was born and raised in Colorado. She attended college at Seattle Pacific University and after living in Seattle for 5 years moved to live in Pasadena, California. After 8 years exploring other amazing cities she returned to once again call Denver her home. Alyssa now finds her greatest joy in life when spending time with her family. She is working every day to continuously create the healthy balance between family and work life.
